Public Forum: New Pennsylvania Avenue Plan Design Concepts Public Engagement Forum

10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Location

National Building Musuem
401 F Street NW, Washington, DC

Overview

The New Pennsylvania Avenue Plan will beautify public spaces, upgrade aging infrastructure, and create efficient stewardship. When complete, the plan will lay the framework for the Avenue as a stage for awe-inspiring events and an iconic setting for everyday life.

NCPC initiated the National Environmental Policy Act on March 31 and will present new design concepts for the corridor and three main public spaces at the commission’s April 2 meeting. Stop by on April 9th anytime between 10:00 am to 5:00 pm for an in-person public engagement forum at the National Building Museum’s (NBM) City Action Hall to learn about this next phase of design. Public comments will be accepted from March 30 through April 30, 2026, and the engagement forum materials will also be available in the hall until April 30, 2026.

The City Action Hall is located within the museum’s second-floor exhibit Coming Together: Reimagining America’s Downtowns, which explores how American cities adapted, reshaped, and reimagined the way we came together in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Detailed directions to the NBM can be found on their website

NCPC is also hosting two virtual public meetings with the design consultant team for the public to learn more and ask questions about these design concepts on Wednesday, April 8 and Wednesday, April 22. The same material will be presented at each meeting.
