SW Business Improvement District Begins Operation

The Southwest BID, a Business Improvement District (BID) authorized in 2014 by the DC City Council, is now operating in the Southwest neighborhood. Led by Executive Director Steve Moore, The SW BID will be involved in public space management, transportation, communication and planning, and homeless services. The creation of the BID represents a significant step forward towards the realization of the SW Ecodistrict.

Immediate actions include a “Clean Team” to clean the streets, and introduction of “ambassadors” to provide directions and wayfinding to area visitors. The SW BID is the newest of ten BIDs, all of which help to manage and enhance neighborhoods in Washington, DC.
