Public Meeting: Streetscape Design Guidelines: Vertical and Surface Elements

6:00 PM - 7:30 PM     Online Meeting

Overview

Washington’s downtown monumental core is home to some of the most important civic, cultural, and symbolic structures in the city and nation. Different federal and District agencies are responsible for building and maintaining its appearance, including the streetscapes in and around the National Mall. Together with these agencies, NCPC drafted Streetscape Design Guidelines, which inform the placement and characteristics of streetscape elements such as trees, landscapes and plantings, stormwater management, pavement materials, and sidewalks, and help ensure the beauty and functionality of the area enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. These efforts are part of the Monumental Core Streetscape Project, an initiative to update the 1992 National Mall Streetscape Manual.

The Draft Streetscape Design Guidelines are available for public review and comment from February 9 to May 11, 2022. This is the second public meeting for members of the public to learn more about the project and provide informal comments. To have comments included in the formal written record for consideration, please submit them on the Initiative Page.

This meeting will be conducted online using Zoom. You will need to RSVP and include your email address. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about how to join the meeting. You may use the Zoom invitation to join online or by phone.

Reasonable accommodations are provided upon request. For more information email info@ncpc.gov or call 202-482-7200.
