Public Meeting: Streetscape Framework and Lighting Policy

6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Location

National Capital Planning Commission
401 9th Street, NW, Suite 500, Washington, DC 20004

Overview

Join us for a presentation and Q&A session about proposed federal planning and design guidance for our capital city’s streetscapes. NCPC staff will present the Streetscape and Lighting Frameworks – an update to the 1992 National Mall Streetscape Manual. The Streetscape Framework includes principles for streets of national significance that unify the capital city. The Lighting Policy defines a hierarchy for illuminated elements in the monumental core. It will provide guidance for the future development of streetlighting specifications to be applied in or adjacent to federal properties. NCPC will host meetings on January 14 and 15, 2020. The content and format will be the same both days.
