Public Meeting: Georgetown Canal Plan

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Location

Canal Overlook at Georgetown Park
3278 M Street, NW, Washington DC

Overview

The National Park Service (NPS), in partnership with Georgetown Heritage, Georgetown Business Improvement District (BID), and the District of Columbia Office of Planning, is preparing plans and a corresponding Environmental Assessment (Plan/EA) to revitalize portions of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park (C&O Canal NHP) and Rock Creek Park within the Georgetown neighborhood of the District of Columbia.

The purpose of this meeting will be to inform the public of the expanded project area boundaries, present initial plan alternatives, and invite comment on the potential impacts on cultural and environmental resources. During the meeting, project team members will present initial design alternatives. Park staff will be present to answer your questions, provide comments, and identify concerns they feel should be addressed in the EA.

If you cannot attend the meeting, you are invited to submit comments in writing before December 11, 2017. Comments can be submitted electronically at the National Park Service’s Planning, Environmental and Public Comments (PEPC) website at http://parkplanning.nps.gov/Georgetowncanalplan.
