Public Meeting: Air and Space Museum-NEPA/Section 106/ Exterior Cladding Mockup

4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Location

Air and Space Museum, NE corner of the upper terrace at Jefferson Dr and 4th St, SW
600 Independence Ave SW, Washington, DC

Overview

The Smithsonian Institution and NCPC are conducting ongoing NEPA/Section 106 consultation for the National Air and Space Museum Revitalization and are convening a fourth joint NEPA/Consulting Parties meeting. This meeting, which will be an open-house format, is a follow-up to the April 7, 2017, joint NEPA/Section 106 public meeting held to review the exterior cladding mock-up. An additional stone, Colonial Rose Granite, was added to the mock-up for consideration. This meeting will provide an opportunity to view the mock-up of the additional stone.

The meeting will take place at the museum's mock-up site located on the northeast corner of the upper terrace at Jefferson Drive and 4th Street SW. NCPC and Smithsonian representatives will be present  to discuss the stone alternatives with any interested parties, and to take comments and questions.

Formal written comments on the Colonial Rose Granite may be submitted by June 14, 2017 to Carly Bond at bondc@si.edu. Please contact her directly if you would like to review the stone and cannot attend the June 8 meeting to arrange another convenient time.
