Overview

Events DC proposes to rehabilitate and modernize the Carnegie Library to become a retail and education facility. The proposed project is subject to the review and approval of the National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) under the National Capital Planning Act. In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and in cooperation with Events DC, NCPC is preparing an Environmental Assessment (EA) to analyze potential impacts associated with the project. NCPC plans to coordinate the Section 106 and NEPA process per the implementing regulations. Information pertaining to the project is posted below to facilitate public review.

NCPC will host a Section 106 Consultation meeting at NCPC’s offices.

On Tuesday, May 9 at 4:00 pm, NCPC will host a public NEPA scoping meeting at the Carnegie Library to introduce the project and invite public comment on the range of issues that will be addressed in the EA.
