7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Location

National Archives, William G. McGowan Theater
700 Pennsylvania Ave NW Washington, DC

Overview

Washington's horizontal skyline is shaped by the Height of Buildings Act of 1910, a federal law which regulates the height of all buildings within Washington, DC. But, is this the right policy to help guide future growth in the nation’s capital? Join a panel of international experts as they consider the role governments play in managing building height in capital cities worldwide and examine strategies to balance city character and economic vitality. The discussion is part of the Washington, DC Height Master Plan, jointly led by NCPC and the District of Columbia Office of Planning.
