HSPD-12 Status Report
Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) was issued on August 12, 2004 by President Bush. HSPD-12 called for a mandatory, government-wide standard for secure and reliable forms of identification issued by the federal government to its employees and to the employees of federal contractors. The implementation of this standard ensures that the identification for government employees and contractors is reliable and secure. Through partnership with the General Services Administration’s HSPD-12 Managed Service Office, USAccess Program, as of July 2008, the National Capital Planning Commission has fully implemented compliance with the HSPD-12 Directive.
