More Development at Southwest Waterfront

As the first phase of The Wharf nears completion in October 2017, developers submitted plans in May to the District of Columbia for the second phase. Pending zoning approval, construction could begin next year. Strong real estate interest in The Wharf and the Southwest quadrant provides opportunity to capitalize investments to advance the SW Ecodistrict Plan recommendations, particularly improvements to 10th, SW and Banneker Park, which link downtown and the National Mall with the SW Waterfront.
