September Meeting Recap

NCPC provided comments to the General Services Administration on concept plans for the St. Elizabeths West Campus Gate 6 Garage and Site Development. Commissioners praised how the garage would be integrated into the landscape and recommended further evaluation of traffic impacts.

The Commission approved final building plans for proposed Capital One Arena improvements submitted by the District of Columbia and Monumental Sports & Entertainment. Enhancements include relocation of the F Street main entrance, new displays and lighting, and the addition of an architectural veil on the top of the arena. NCPC expressed appreciation for the changes made based on its feedback.

Women’s Suffrage National Monument Public Comment Period

The National Park Service is accepting comments through October 8 on potential sites for the proposed Women's Suffrage National Monument. Commissioners will provide feedback on these potential sites at NCPC’s October 9 meeting.

The National Park Service is accepting comments through October 10 on the Environmental Assessment for the proposed Fallen Journalists Memorial. Commissioners will review the proposed memorial plans at NCPC’s October 9 meeting.
