 | September Meeting Recap NCPC approved final site and building plans to rehabilitate the Rock Creek Park Golf Course. Plans seek to address deferred maintenance and make the 100-acre course more appealing to golfers of various skills. Commissioners appreciated the thoughtful comments provided in more than six hours of public testimony. They determined that tree removal was necessary and noted that the current design has less removal than originally proposed and that for every healthy, native species tree removed, three new ones will be planted. The Commission approved preliminary and final site development plans for improvements to Little Falls Parkway in Bethesda, Maryland that aim to enhance safety and reduce potential accidents between cars and pedestrians/cyclists. The Commission approved reports on two cases referred by the Zoning Commission of the District of Columbia. The first was a proposed Map Amendment that allows for new development and replacement facilities for the police and fire stations at 17th and U Streets, NW. The second is proposed Text and Map Amendments to increase allowable density on Connecticut Avenue, NW, between Chevy Chase Circle, NW and Livingston Street, NW. | |
