November Meeting Recap

NCPC approved preliminary site and building plans for a Child Development Center at Joint Base Andrews in Camp Springs, Maryland. Plans submitted by the U.S. Department of Defense are for a new 23,000 square foot facility. Commissioners recommended several changes including adding landscaping and detailing to the building façade to make it more appealing for the children; adding sidewalks to promote walkability to the rest of the base; and installing permeable paving in the parking stalls to promote stormwater infiltration and reduce runoff.

Items approved on the Consent Calendar include preliminary site and building plans for site improvements to the National Mall Carousel and preliminary building plans for the replacement of the main gate at the Wolf Trap Park for the Performing Arts.

We’re Coming Back

NCPC’s December Commission meeting will take place in a hybrid format. This means that Commissioners and staff will be in person at NCPC’s offices, and the public and project applicants have the ability to participate either online or in person.
