Many major projects advanced at the March meeting. NCPC approved final site development plans for the Constitution Gardens Rehabilitation – Phase 2, located on 43 acres on the National Mall. Commissioners were pleased with the final design, which will reconstruct the lake and gardens into a more sustainable and inviting space.

The Commission approved preliminary site development plans for the Texas Legation Memorial, which seeks to honor the Republic of Texas representatives who served as diplomats to the United States.

Commissioners approved preliminary site and development plans for the Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel Barracks. They praised improvements that addressed previous comments to refine the design, scale, and compatibility with the Fort Myer Historic District.

NCPC provided comments on concept plans for a new Pentagon Metro Entrance Pedestrian Access Control Point that provides improved employee screening. Commissioners supported elements of both design options and requested ways to improve natural light and openness in the interior.

NCPC provided feedback on concept plans for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency Building and Site Development on St. Elizabeths West Campus. Commissioners felt that the design of the two primary towers and exterior courtyard complemented the campus.
