June Meeting RecapNCPC adopted updates to the Comprehensive Plan for the National Capital: Federal Elements’ Introduction Chapter related to equity and environmental sustainability. The Commission also approved equity-related updates to the agency’s Submission Guidelines. These efforts to reflect on historic planning practices echo the agency’s Centennial activities. The Commission also approved development plans for the rehabilitation of Shepherd Parkway Parkland, building plans for the modernization and expansion of Thomas Elementary School, and the Small Cell Guidelines Update for Standalone Poles in the District of Columbia. | |
Comment on Little Falls Parkway Improvements Environmental AssessmentAt the June meeting, NCPC and Montgomery Parks Department staff briefed Commissioners on efforts to improve safety conditions of the Little Falls Parkway. The public is invited to comment on the project’s Environmental Assessment until July 18, 2024. | |
