Scoping Meeting: Little Falls Parkway Improvements

7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Live Stream: scheduled

Location

Online Meeting
401 9th Street, NW

Overview

The public is invited to learn more about NCPC’s review process, which will include a future Environmental Assessment (EA) that analyzes a Montgomery County Parks Department proposal to reconfigure a 0.4-mile section of Little Falls Parkway. The proposed changes would occur between north of Arlington Road and Dorset Avenue in Bethesda, Maryland, reducing the parkway from a four lane, median-divided configuration to a two-lane, median-divided roadway (with northbound and southbound general traffic lanes). Other proposed changes would include a new buffered bike lane, intersection safety improvements, lane markings, signal timing changes, new lane separators, new turn lanes, and new signage. The scoping meeting is being held pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

This online public meeting will explain NCPC’s review role and process regarding the Little Falls Parkway Improvements Project. The public may submit written questions during the online meeting that will be answered live by NCPC staff. The meeting is scheduled during a 30-day public comment period for the project’s Scoping Phase (part of NCPC’s preparation of an Environmental Assessment) which is scheduled from February 29–March 29, 2024.

Please note that NCPC will only consider written comments submitted through the on-line project page or sent by mail during the public scoping comment period as part of the EA process.

A video recording of this event will be available for those unable to attend and posted on the project website (link below). There will be future opportunities to comment on the draft EA once the report is developed.
