Overview

The History and Presence of Native Americans in the Washington Region
NCPC invites you to a public presentation by Dr. Elizabeth Rule to explore the recent history and presence of Native Americans in the Washington region. She will also discuss the Guide to Indigenous DC app she developed that explores the people, places and events linked to Washington’s Native American history. Her presentation will provide a broader understanding of Tribal Nations and how they interact with other levels of governments. Dr. Rule is Assistant Professor of Critical Race, Gender, and Culture Studies at American University. She is an enrolled citizen of the Chickasaw Nation.

The event is free and open to the public. The event will not be recorded.
