The Commission is supported by a staff of planners, architects, urban designers, and other professionals. The staff oversees long-range planning for future development, prepares the Comprehensive Plan for the National Capital’s Federal Elements, monitors capital investment by federal agencies for the annual Federal Capital Improvements Program, and develops signature planning initiatives. NCPC staff also prepares recommendations on submitted projects and master plans that are ultimately reviewed by the Commission.
