|Description of Project
A Master Plan is being developed for the Nebraska Avenue Complex (NAC) as a campus capable of continuing to house the Department of Homeland Security. The Plan will guide future renovation and development of the campus by establishing design and land-use planning principles for the construction of new buildings, roadways, open green space, utility systems, and other infrastructure needs, while minimizing environmental, economic, and social impacts. The Master Plan’s design and planning principles will also encourage the preservation and rehabilitation of the NAC’s landscape and buildings.
The NAC is a 37-acre site located at 3801 Nebraska Avenue, NW, Washington, DC. On the site are more than 30 buildings containing approximately 650,000 gross square feet plus site support including parking, guard houses, and back-up generators.
Members of the public as well as local & federal agencies are encouraged to submit written comments that will help establish the scope of the project's Environmental Impact Statement.
