JOB SUMMARY:
Join the National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) team if you are a highly motivated and experienced professional with extensive experience in the administrative analysis field looking for a challenging career! NCPC, through planning, policymaking, and development review, defines and protects the Federal government's interest in the development of the National Capital Region. The Federal interest is broad and multi-faceted, from ensuring government agencies have adequate facilities and their employees have good workplaces, to protecting the environment, public parks, and the region's historical and cultural resources. The Management & Program Analyst position, located in the Office of Administration, will serve under the supervision of the Administrative Officer and provide coordination and management over a variety of administrative programs and services for the agency.

*Salary range reflects GS-12, Step 1 through Step 10, including locality pay. Salary will be set in accordance with applicable pay setting regulations. Pay for first appointment to the Federal service is generally set at Step 1 of the grade.

JOB SUMMARY:
The National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) is looking for a highly motivated and experienced community planner to join our team! NCPC, through project review, policy work and planning initiatives, defines and protects the federal government’s interests in the development of the National Capital Region. The federal interest is broad and multi-faceted, ranging from ensuring government facilities meet mission needs and provide great work environments; leadership in sustainable development; protecting the region’s parks and cultural and historic resources; and balancing security needs and public access. The incumbent may perform specific planning duties focused around one of the agency's main program areas, including research and policy, planning and urban design, plan development, project review, and public engagement. This is a full-time permanent position. More than one position may be filled from this announcement.

*The salary range is representative of grade levels GS-09, step 1, through GS-11, step 10, including locality pay. Salary will be set in accordance with applicable pay setting regulations. Pay for first appointment to the federal service is generally set at step 1 of the grade level.

Internships

NCPC offers unpaid internships for students attending accredited colleges and universities. Students gain experience in federal planning and policymaking by working alongside NCPC staff. Interns come from many fields of study including Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Community Planning, Urban Design, Geography & Geographic Information Systems, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Historic Preservation, Law, and Communications.
