Locality Plan Review

As part of its authority to guide the development of the National Capital Region, NCPC reviews plans proposed by local jurisdictions and regional entities. Types of documents include comprehensive, area, transportation, open space, and historic preservation plans. NCPC determines whether the plans have an impact on a federal interest, and if so, prepares comments to help local agencies coordinate with affected federal entities.

Streetcar System
NCPC is providing input into the development of a streetcar system in the District of Columbia. The system is part of an effort that includes the DC Circulator and express Metrobus routes to better meet the transit needs of D.C. residents, employees and visitors.

Zoning Regulation Update, 2008-2010
NCPC is providing input into the District of Columbia's comprehensive overhaul of its zoning regulations. All proposed changes to the zoning map or the text of the code are subject to Commission review before they go into effect.
