NCPC Selects Marcel Acosta As New Executive Director
The National Capital Planning Commission announced the selection of Marcel Acosta as its new Executive Director. Mr. Acosta joined NCPC in 2001 as the Deputy Executive Director and served recently as the agency’s Acting Executive Director. In his new role, Mr. Acosta will direct the agency’s planning programs, make policy recommendations to the Commission, and guide the work of the professional planning staff.

NCPC Receives Top Awards from NAGC
The National Association of Government Communicators honored NCPC with two of its top awards at its recent 2008 convention. The agency’s 2006 Annual Report won 1st place honors in the annual report category and NCPC’s Worthy of the Nation exhibit held at Union Station in April 2007, won 2nd place honors in the display category. 

CapitalSpace Public Meeting
Members of the public are invited to participate in a community discussion for the CapitalSpace Initiative on Tuesday, May 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. Attendees will be updated on the partnership’s planning activities and hear recommendations for new and existing parks.

12:30 p.m. in the Commission offices. The tentative agenda, once set, is available

Armed Forces Retirement Home Final Master Plan

The Commission's review of the final Master Plan (Project Number MP060) is scheduled for June 5, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. NCPC welcomes public comments at this meeting.
